Almost everything that passes a plant gate looks like it passed a plant gate. These do not, and that is the whole reason they are here.
They clear the gate
ASTM F2413 I/C EH SR: steel toe, impact and compression, electrical hazard, and a slip-resisting sole. That is the stamp a plant wants before it lets anybody past the fence and into an operating unit. The Duratread sole also passes hot contact at 572 degrees, which matters more some places than others.
Then they go to dinner
Nice jeans, a decent shirt, same boots. They are presentable for a meeting you would rather not walk into looking rough, and they are still fine at a table afterward. One pair, three places, no trip home in between.
No laces
Pull them on and go. Nothing to come untied, nothing to catch on anything, and they come off at the back door without bending over.
The verdict
A boot that gets you into the unit and out to eat is doing two jobs most boots make you buy twice for.
Skip it if
You are between sizes or have a high instep. A pull-on cannot be snugged across the top of the foot the way a lace-up can, so the fit has to be right off the shelf rather than close enough to adjust.
