Mechanix Wear The Original Gloves
Thin enough that you leave them on for the fiddly part, which is the only way a glove protects anything.

The thick glove is not protecting your hands. It is in the drawer, because you took it off the first time you had to start a bolt by feel, and then you did the rest of the job bare-handed.
Thin enough to leave on
A single-layer synthetic palm is the whole idea here. You can find a dropped socket under the seat, thread a nut two turns with your fingers, and pull a cotter pin without stopping to peel anything off. A glove you keep on all afternoon does more for you than a better glove you wear for ten minutes.
They go in the wash
Machine washable, which is the difference between a pair of gloves and a pair of shop rags. Grease and brake dust come out, the hook-and-loop survives it, and you are not buying another pair in March.
The verdict
For a Saturday under a truck or a mower, this is the glove that actually stays on your hand.
Skip it if
You need plant PPE. These are a garage glove — no cut rating, no impact protection, and they will not pass a site that specifies either. Mechanix builds rated lines for that.
